Although the cemetery is near Hopewell Methodist Church, it is not Hopewell's cemetery. Blackjack Cemetery belongs to and serves the whole community and several local churches including Hopewell Methodist, Simmons Mill Pentecostal, Six Mile Pentecostal and Arkadelphia Baptist.
